Bar Dançante
Bar Dançante is a Portuguese party and artistic residency that mixes popular Portuguese music from the 70's - 90's with kizomba, disco, and other nostalgic hits to create an inclusive dancefloor experience.

I created the logo, posters, and a range of supporting visuals that carried through their parties and festival appearances. The aesthetic was deliberately kitsch and cliché-heavy, drawing from the look of old Portuguese nightclub flyers, cheap gradients, and retro bootleg type treatments. It leaned into nostalgia and exaggeration, purposely inspired by their lineups, which often mix DJ sets with concerts from iconic Portuguese singers of the 70s–90s, that way reflecting the event’s mission to blur the line between alternative and popular culture while celebrating Portuguese music.
The organizers asked for “something you could put on a t-shirt,” which led to a distinct and easily recognizable identity that stood out from more traditional event posters across Portugal. No merch was developed for Bar Dançante, however, concepts like vintage inspired tracksuits, led vests and disco ball ashtrays along with disco ball inspired visors were proposed.
